Today I actually talked to the photographer from the studio I like. Every time I called or visited before, he was out. So this time I had him call me at a time that worked for him.

Either I am the luckiest person ever or this is a huge scam cause he sounds absolutely perfect. He's really excited to be doing something non-traditional. And I made him completely photo-geek out when I told him he could bring his whole bag of photo tricks. He said that most weddings want the normal stuff and he rarely gets to use the fun stuff.

By the end of the conversation, he was completely excited and I was completely excited.

They are sending me the contracts to sign. It all seems far too good to be true.

Tomorrow I should call the bakery and get that paperwork started too.

Then the only big things left are transportation and an officiant. Woo!

Goats

Apr. 29th, 2009 10:10 am
One day when I have more free time than I know what to do with, I am going to make a goat album.

While looking through old pictures in my parent's house, I quickly realized I love petting goats. There must be at least one picture for every year of my life showing me petting a goat.

If I put all these pictures together in one album, you could watch me grow up via goats. I think it would be neat!

On a totally unrelated note, stay away from chipmunks. They are all perverts.
Fewer fights today, which is always a good thing.

In the morning we went to the second photographer. I don't think I will be choosing them for my photos. All their pictures were very nice and they were willing to work to my budget, but it had too much of a wedding factory feel to it. I didn't get a sense that they'd be able to take the time and make the pictures "our story." We'd just be another couple on the assembly line.

I do have one more question for the first photographer though before I sign anything. What happens if my photographer gets sick? They only have one photographer in their studio, so I assume they have a plan B. Just want to know what it is.

After the photographer, we went to a local baking/candy shop to purchase supplies for making chocolate stars. I bought a mold and a small bag of melting chocolates to experiment. I would like to repeat that. I bought a bag of MELTING CHOCOLATE on a 90 degree day. Oh yes I am brilliant...

From there we went to a fabric store to find tulle for my veil, but their selection was terrible. Only one shade of white! Lame!

- Last night I spent an hour digging through old photos looking for baby pictures of noname. I was disappointed by how few there were. She's very cute in the ones I found though. She was so tiny! And her ears were all floppy.

- I had a nightmare last night that followed me through every dream. Some sort of monster with deadly tentacles was trying to break out of the other dimension it had been imprisoned in to kill everyone in this dimension. Every time the dream got too scary, I would "wake up" into another dream. In that dream people would start hinting at the monster and I'd be like, "Oh no! Just like in my dream!" It went on like that all night. It was terrible.

- When I woke up, I had no clue where I was.

- There is a dog standing by my feet, begging for food and farting. I haven't had any food for about half an hour, when I finished the last bite of my waffle. Petting her only makes her drool because she thinks my hand is bringing down food.

- I miss ben.
(Continuing to catch up on pictures.)

Way back in Sept, Ben and I went to the Baltimore Zoo with friends. It was horribly hot but I still had a good time.

Below are some of the highlights of the trip. You can see all the pictures here.

Catching up on photos...

Last weekend I went to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum's exhibit on butterflies. They have a pavilion you can enter that has butterflies flying around freely!

Below are some of my favorite pictures from the trip. You can find the rest here.

Today I took Noname to petsmart to buy gifts for the various pets I know.

Most exhausting shopping trip ever.

Noname had to say hi to every single dog and every single person in the store. If I turned my head away from her for even a second, she would be off down the aisle. It made shopping very difficult.

But it was worth it. Noname is so cute. )

Me and my mighty sign

Ben and I went to the DC equal rights protest. It was my first protest. I made a sign.

The march lasted about an hour, going from the Capitol building to the White House. It made me happy to see so many people honking and cheering from their cars as we walked by.

Also, does anyone know how to make flickr post multiple photos from their site into one entry? It keeps wanting to make a new one for each picture. How annoying.
Note: Currently experimenting with flickr. (I know, took me long enough, right?) Please be patient as I figure out what I'm doing.
Instead of doing NaNoWriMo this year, I've decided to take the less stressful approach of posting at least one picture every day instead. I enjoy taking and sharing pictures, but never really take as many as I would like.

So for today I have pictures from yesterday. Halloween costumes! (You can click on each one to make them bigger.)

Here is the most adorable Miss Noname as a BEE DOG!!!! The hood on her costume is too big and kept falling in her eyes, so I had to push it back during her walks. She still looked cute though.

And here is my costume! I was the 80s cartoon character, Rainbow Brite! I spent about a month's worth of evenings working on it. I actually don't think I did a very good job on it, but somehow I won 1st place at the company costume contest. The wig looks terrible and the sleeves aren't right. Oh well, I won!

I was surprised by the piece of my costume that everyone at work loved the most. The boots! They thought boot covers were the most clever things they had ever seen. So strange!
The last day of the Disney trip was to Hollywood Studios. Not my favorite park, but I still had fun.

The day after Animal Kingdom, we went to Downtown Disney and DisneyQuest. However, I was too busy playing video games and shopping to take pictures.

So instead here are pictures for the day after that, Kennedy Space Center.

Day 2 of my disney trip: Animal Kingdom!

I finally got around to updating a few of my pictures from Disney. Go me! Here are a handful from the first day, Magic Kingdom:

Day 3 of the trip was Kennedy Space Center. We had a rough time getting there though, because on the way there I realized I had lost my necklace. We had to drive back to the townhouse with me a panicked mess. Luckily my dad found it on the floor.

As a result, we got there a little late. But it was a monday so there were no crowds at all. We walked right on/in to almost everything.

The first thing we did was go on a simulation ride of a rocket take off. Sadly, the disney one was much better and felt more realistic. That makes me sad. I wanted the NASA one to be the best.

Anyway, then we toured the inside of a space shuttle.

Day 2 of the trip was SeaWorld! Yay!

The first thing we did was run over to the Shamu show. Shamu is so popular that his show always fills up, except for the first show because everyone is still trying to get into the park.

I have photos! Behold!

I have very fond memories of Gatorland. I went there as a child and it was definitely fun, if a little cheesy. It certainly didn't disappoint this time.
